Stay in a beautiful log semi-detached house, set in peaceful privacy as the only cabin on Pahtapisto road – yet right in the very heart of the ski resort. Just 300 m down the road lies Hotel Suomutunturi, and only 200 m by foot takes you to the children’s ski lift top station.
Our cozy holiday home features a compact and functional layout with 42 m² plus a loft, fully renovated and refurnished in November 2021.
Step inside to a spacious entrance that opens into a bright open-plan kitchen and dining area. The brand-new kitchen is equipped with high-quality appliances and full tableware, with a dining table that seats six. After a day outdoors, relax in the living area on a plush Bellus sofa in front of the atmospheric fireplace.
Downstairs also includes a separate sleeping alcove (with a curtain door) featuring a luxurious Bellus double bed, plus a modern bathroom with WC and a spacious sauna with a new stove.
A spiral staircase leads safely to the loft, secured with full railings for child safety. Upstairs you’ll find three high-quality Bellus beds (80 cm wide each), suitable for both children and adults. The loft also has an emergency exit with a window and ladder for safety.
Additional comforts include free Wi-Fi, perfect for remote work, and an outdoor covered terrace with a gas grill (summer season). The spacious yard offers parking for three cars and a complimentary electric car charging station (ABB Type 2, bring a 5–7 m cable). A swing for children is also available.
Thanks to its central location, a car-free holiday is also possible. VR trains run daily between Helsinki and Kemijärvi, and during the season, a supported shuttle service takes you from Kemijärvi station to Suomutunturi for just €10/adult and €5/child (including ski equipment transport).
Suomutunturi offers some of Finland’s most sheltered slopes, including two FIS-level runs for professionals and gentler slopes for families. Nearby Ruka, Pyhä, and Salla ski resorts are only about an hour’s drive away, making perfect day trips.
At the foot of the slopes, the brand-new Hotel Suomutunturi features a ski rental, a highly praised restaurant, meeting facilities, and a small spa.
